We at the Leicestershire and Rutland Football Association share that passion for this great sport. From the children that take part in our youth tournaments, through to those that make it to the hallowed turf of the Walkers Stadium, we pride ourselves in helping to develop football and giving people an opportunity to be recognised. Leicestershire and Rutland has a population of 623,200 people, which includes Leicester, the largest city in the East Midlands, with the eight largest population in the country. Different races and cultures help to make Leicester such a diverse and unique city – with football often at the centre of people’s lives regardless of age, gender or race.
Major companies such as Jelson Homes, the Leicester Mercury and Westerby becoming official sponsors of our competitions illustrate our current success. Their support has been invaluable in providing funds and publicity to grassroots football in our region. It is this support that is essential to the growth of this game that we all love.
