Charter Standard Schools and Colleges

The Charter Standard for Schools programme is a kite marking scheme that establishes minimum standards of Football Development in schools. It is also a means by which good practice is recognised and will raise standards by sharing this good practice.

If you would like to be recognised and rewarded for your standards in football at your school / college, please download the appropriate form attached.

All schools including Special schools can apply. There five possible categories; Charter Standard Primary and Secondary, Charter Standard Development Primary and Secondary and Charter Standard Special Schools. If you have not met all the criteria for the higher ‘Development’ award, you can upgrade at a later date

The criteria for achieving Charter Standard School status include:
-Minimum FA qualifications for teachers
-Football to be provided to boys and girls in the curriculum
- Football to be provided for boys and girls out of school hours
-Schools to be affiliated to the English Schools Football Association
-School to club link with a junior football club

**There will be a Charter Standard Schools FA Cup themed festival held at Goals, Leicester on 24th April 1-4pm. All Charter Standard Schools are invited to attend and it will be aimed at boys and girls in Year 3&4. This competition is part of a national FA Cup schools day and is supported by the FA Cup sponsors e-on. There will also be a Secondary Schools Girls competition the day before at Judgemeadow CC. This is open to Girls school teams in year 7&8 in Charter Standard Secondary Schools. Application forms can be downloaded opposite**
