For Whom?
For all coaches, medics and referees in football where youngsters are involved, including where Under 18s are playing adult football. For those involved with Charter Standard or taking coaching, medical and refereeing qualifications,safeguarding Children in Football is mandatory.

Pre-requisites:
Ideally applicants are 18 years of age or over. The workshop requires some emotional maturity to deal with content, as well as some experience in leadership roles in order to apply a context for dealing with child welfare issues.
 
Content:
- Making football safe
- Why football needs to tackle the issue
- The work of The FA in changing attitudes, promoting best practice and protection young people

Best Practice
What is meant by best practice and where you may wish to make changes in what you do?

- Signs, symptoms and forms of abuse and poor practice
- How to recognise the signs, symptoms and forms of abuse
- Behaviour in football that gives cause for concern
- Attitudes and feelings in relation to concerns about poor practice and abuse

Taking action
What to do if you are concerned about the welfare of a child or young person

How to respond if a child discloses that he or she has been abused or if they are concerned about someone’s behaviour
