School Club Link
The FA 3 Lions FC School Club Link Programme has enabled Leicestershire & Rutland County FA, supported by School Sports Partnerships to enthuse, retain and develop young people regardless of their background, gender or level of ability. The programme will play a role in helping the FA to continue the development of players moving into high quality clubs for young people. The Football Association defines a school to club link as “a process to assist a young person to move from participating in PE and Sport in school into an FA Charter Standard Club”.

Community Sports Coach
Leicestershire & Rutland County FA’s Community Sports Coach provides FREE coaching to schools both during curriculum time and out of school hours. Working closely with Leicester City FC FITC, his role largely focuses on developing Girls and Disability Football opportunities. This coaching supports the development of young people in Primary, secondary and special schools and is usually delivered in a six week block. The coach works alongside an identified teacher/volunteer ensuring they are given enough support to help them gain knowledge & experience. This enables activities to be sustained and made available to more children throughout the school.
FA TOP Sport Football
This is a unique partnership between The FA and Youth Sports Trust. It is designed to increase opportunities in the PE Curriculum for developing football skills for children between the ages of 7-11. It consists of a 4 hour training course for teachers and the schools will also receive resource cards and guidance on receiving FA Charter Standard Schools Status.
Junior Football Organisers Course
This programme gives young people aged 14-18 years skills in leading groups through safe, football related activities. The JFO course lasts for a total of six and a half hours and it encourages students to take responsibility for children aged 6-11 years old in organising activities such as FA TOP Sport Football Clubs and Mini Soccer festivals and games. Above all it assists the young football leaders to grow in confidence in leading and organising football activities for small groups.
Clubs or Schools can organise these courses for their young leaders. Leicestershire & Rutland CFA also provide Junior Football Organisers Tutor Training courses for those wishing to lead one of these courses.
