Pan Disability – Representative Teams

Every month at Holmes Park the home of the County FA, players with a learning, physical or sensory impairment / disability are invited to attend a development centre to receive training and coaching as part of their football and personal development. Teams are then selected to represent Leiceteshire & Rutland in the East Midlands Pan Disability League, which takes places every month around the Midlands.

Teams representing Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire as well as our own squads take place in the league, which has different divisions according to ability, to ensure a level playing field. Premiership,Championship and League Divisions for Adults and Championship Division for U16 male players. Girls and Ladies from squads around the midlands are also invited to attend and female players receive training and take part in flexible format football matches.

Each County hosts a round robin fixture programme with teams playing 7 a side football in all but the Premiership Division, where 11 a side matches are played.

To finish the season the Football Association host National Finals, where teams who have won their respective regional leagues compete to become National Ability Counts Champions.

The Midlands representative teams are co-ordinated and managed by Local County FA’s and Football in the Community schemes working together to provide this fantastic opportunity for players to represent their respective County and play in a regional competition. The fair-play, respect, skill and team work displayed by the teams makes for a very enjoyable experience for all involved.
