Women and Girls Football Development

‘Women’s and Girls Football is the country’s fastest growing sport with more players competing in affiliated competition than any other female sport.’

Female Football in Leicestershire & Rutland has mirrored the growth seen throughout the rest of the Country. For the 09/10 season, Leicestershire & Rutland saw around 98 Girls teams compete in the Leicester City & County Girls League and 30 Women’s football teams who participate in the Leicestershire Women’s Senior League, or in one of the Regional/Combination Leagues within the Women’s football league structure.

Leicestershire & Rutland County FA employ a full time Women & Girls Football Development Officer to help organise, develop and support a variety of opportunities for females of all ages to participate within football and provide support to clubs, players, coaches and volunteers through:
