Female Football in Leicestershire & Rutland has mirrored the growth seen throughout the rest of the Country. For the 07/08 season, Leicestershire & Rutland saw around 106 Girls teams compete in the Leicester City & County Girls League and 28 Women’s football teams who participate in the Leicestershire Women’s Senior League, or in one of the Regional/Combination Leagues within the Women’s football league structure.
Leicestershire & Rutland County FA employ a fulltime Women & Girls Football Development Officer to help organise, develop and support a variety of opportunities for females of all ages to participate within football and provide support to clubs, players, coaches and volunteers through:
