What are the costs?
The course fee is £100 (£80 for under 16's). This includes basic training, an FA CRB check (required for over 18's), safeguarding children training and an FA welcome to refereeing pack.
Once you have qualified, you can claim a refund of £30 (£10 for under 16's) from the FA when you referee a further 6 matches.
Do I get paid?
Referees get paid £28 per match for open age football, and for U16-U18 games. £23 for U13-U15 and £23 for U11 & U12. Minisoccer pays £13 per match. This includes games refereed as part of the course, so it really pays to be a referee!
OK, so when's the next course?
Course 1
Will be held at Judgemeadow Community College, Evington, Leicester from Monday 26th July to Thursday 29th July 2010. This is a daytime course (9am-5pm) designed specifically for candidates 18 and under. However, if you are over 18 and available for the course your application will still be considered.
Applications will close on Friday 2nd July with all successful candidates being notified by Friday 9th July
Course 2
Will be held at Judgemeadow Community College, Evington, Leicester on Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th August 2010. This is a Weekend course (9am-5pm) designed specifically for candidates 18 and over who wish to officiate in ADULT FOOTBALL. However, if you are under 18 and available for the course your application will still be considered if places are available.
Applications will close on Friday 23rd July with all successful candidates being notified by Friday 30th July
Course 3
Will be held at Holmes Park, Whetstone, Leicester on Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th October 2010. This is a weekend course (9am-5pm). All ages please apply
Applications will close on Friday 8th October with all successful candidates being notified by Friday 15th October

It is compulsory to attend all days / evenings in order to complete the course. In addition to this you will be required to complete a minimum of 6 11 v 11 competitive matches during your probationary period.
