When do I need to apply for promotion?
There are three promotions that need to be applied for. Level 7 to 6, Level 6 to 5 and those referees who wish to be considered for promotion to Level 4. The criteria for promotion are as follows
- Referees must have been qualified for at least 12 months prior to applying for promotion
- Applications must be made by completing the promotion application form and returning to County FA by 1st March 2008
- 20 open age mens games must be refereed in the marking period 1st March 2008 - 28th February 2009
- Referees must attend one of two inservice training courses arranged by the County FA (Dates TBA) and pass a written examination
- County FA will endeavour to assess each candidate on three seperate occassions to help improve their performance. Assessments will be considered as part of the promotion process.
- For promotion to Level 5 only, the candidate must have completed 5 games as an assistant referee.
- Referees must achieve above average club or assessment marks.
- For promotion to Level 4, referees must pass a fitness test of 2,500m in 12 minutes arranged by County FA in September 2008
