The Presentation of the Award took place at their home ground at Cambridge Road, Whetstone and was attended by Mr David Jamieson Chairman of the L & R CFA, Marion Hayton County FA Development Officer and Mr. David Jennings Leicestershire County Councillor for Countesthorpe and Cosby District.
Many of the players, members and club officials held a gathering to mark the occasion.
The presentation of the Certificate and FA Plaque was from Mr David Jamieson to Mr Byron James, Chairman of SDFC.
Saffron Dynamo FC was founded as a Sunday side way back in 1963. When the current Secretary and Founder Member, Mr Bob King helped to start the Club with a few friends. The Club purchased their current home ground on Cambridge Road, Whetstone in the 1970`s and at present facilitate 9 x junior teams, a Midweek Floodlight section and 2 x Senior teams.
Floodlights were installed at the ground in 2006 which enabled the establishment of the Club in the Leics Senior League Premier Division and the opportunity to add an Under 18’s Midweek Floodlight Team to the ever growing Club.
Plans have recently been draw up with guidance of Leics & Rutland CFA and Football Foundation and will be submiited to Blaby & District Council Planning Applications for a new Clubhouse with improved changing facilities, extensive off road car parking, Ground Improvement and Security.
The Clubs` Executive Committee have worked to create a Five Year Plan along with a comprehensive Business Plan to bring the new facilities to fruition.
With the help of L & R CFA and Football Foundation, Saffron Dynamo FC hope to provide first class facilities to the benefit of the local community, its players, coaches and football worksforce.
