The FA release the latest holding statement regarding the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (2006).

As media interest and public awareness of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (2006) continues to increase, The FA has published the latest ‘Holding Statement’ which seeks to clarify the position of football and what is required of clubs at this time. You can download this statement from the ‘Related Documents’ from the right hand side of this page.

There are a number of rumours and incorrect pieces of information that are currently in circulation, please ensure that you take the time to read the statement and understand what is required of you and your club. The Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act has created both the Vetting & Barring Scheme (VBS) and also the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) which will impact the legal requirements for providing activities for children later this year.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact County Welfare Officer Tim Siggs on 0116 2845936 or tim.siggs@LeicestershireFA.com or for further safeguarding information please visit http://www.leicestershirefa.com/Development/Safeguarding+Children/.
