Leicestershire SFA U16’s Girls make it through to the Final

The Leicestershire County Schools Representative Girls U16’s are through to the National County Schools Cup Final after beating Merseyside SFA in thrilling game 3 – 2 which was played at Liverpool Soccer Centre on Thursday 25th February 2010.

Goal scorers were: Kirsty Linnett (3mins), Natalie Johnson (25mins) and Lauren Smith (47 mins). To come this far in the competition the team had wins against Cheshire SFA (away) 12 – 0, Nottinghamshire (home) 1 - 0 and Suffolk SFA (away) 4 – 3 (extra time). Well down to all the players.

The Final will take place at Lincoln City FC on Thursday 18th March 2010 against Wiltshire SFA who won their semi final against Middlesex 3 - 0. Kick off is 1.00pm.

We also are pleased to see two of our players, Natalie Johnson (Capt) and Kirsty Linnett, presented with awards for Individual Sportsmanship and Most Valuable Player. The presentation of these awards was held at Leicestershire County Hall on Tuesday 2nd February 2010. Well done to both players.
