As the game changes, so too must all of our coaches. The FA licensed Coaches’ Club aims to inspire, educate and assist coaches along their coaching journey.
In order to retain your licence for next season, you will need to ensure you complete at least your minimum number of hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) during season 2012/13.
What is CPD?
CPD means Continuous Professional Development.
Part of being an FA Licensed Coach is the commitment to Continuous Professional Development, known as CPD. It shows coaches are striving to be the best coach they can be, and that they are trying to constantly improve their skills. It means committing to a minimum number of hours of training per year, depending on the level of coaching qualification held.
What are CPD Hours?
CPD hours are a measure of how many hours of relevant CPD you have done for your licensing level. For example, if you do the Online FA Level 1 Psychology course as a level 1 coach, you will be credited with three hours of CPD. You only need a minimum of five hours of CPD to renew your licence for the following year (three for a Level 1 licence).
How many hours do I have to complete?
All coaches are required to complete CPD hours in order to maintain their coaching licence. The number of hours that need to be completed depend on the level of qualifications a coach holds (please see below).
