This course provides an introduction to the organisation and delivery of safe and enjoyable coaching sessions for players. The course will introduce practical drills to develop players' technical skills such as shooting, turning with the ball and heading. It is ideally suited to those working with groups of young players.
Course Aims & Objectives
To provide learners with an introduction to offering the principles/practice of safe, ethical and effective management and coaching of football to adults and young people, as an assistant normally under the supervision of a level 2 qualified coach.
This certificate offers an opportunity for aspiring football coaches to be supported in developing their knowledge of how to effectively coach a local club or school team.
The course will introduce some key aspects in the following:
- Player and Coach Development
- The FA's Respect Programme
- Laws of the Game
- An introduction to the FA's Long Term Player Development Model
- An introduction to Football for All
Practical elements of the course will provide an introduction to:
- Warm up and cool down game related activities
- Passing and control
- Turning with the ball
- Indiviual Attacking
- Individual Defending
- Small Sided Games
Practical Involvement - Candidates will be encouraged to participate practically to maximise their opportunities for learning (however inability to participate will not prevent successful completion of the award).
Candidates must attend all related sessions to complete the course. Failure to attend either the Emergency Aid or Safeguarding Children Workshop will result in the candidate having to pay the full price of £25 per workshop missed. Failure to attend the assessment day of the candidates course will result in a £10 administration fee for a transfer onto another final assessment course.
To go onto the 1st4sport Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football you must be aged 16 prior to the start of the course.
To obtain the 1st4sport Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football, candidates must attend all related sessions and show competence in all units.
The cost of all 1st4sport Level 1 CCF courses are as follows:
- £156 per candidate, non Charter Standard Club
- £132 per candidate, if the candidate is from a Leicestershire & Rutland County FA Charter Standard Club. A letter from the club, on official letter headed paper, must be supplied with the candidates application as proof.
