Council & Board of Directors

The Leicestershire & Rutland County FA is headed by a Board of Directors and a Council drawn from representatives of affiliated leagues.


The Council is made up of 53 members who all represent local football. Each league has at least one representative as long as they have at least 10 member clubs.

The Council is responsible for all football matters and is the ultimate decision making body within the County Association. All minutes and reports of the standing committees have to be sanctioned by the Council.

The Council meet 6 times a year including the AGM in June.

Board of Directors

Subject to Articles 7 and 44, the affairs of the Association shall be governed by the directors who may authorise all such acts and the exercise of all such powers of the Association by the directors, on whom executive management powers are conferred as directors, as may be required to give effect to the objects as described in the provisions of the Memorandum of Association, and which are not by statute or these Articles required to be done or exercised by the Association in general meeting or by the Council.

It is important to note that all financial decisions are made by the Board of Directors. This has been the case since we became incoporated in 1999. The Council are responsible for non financial football decisions.
