Leicestershire & Rutland County FA Referee Kevin Friend retires from the Premier League.

Kevin was promoted to the Premier League in 2009 after he started refereeing in Leicestershire at the age of 14 and since his promotion, he has refereed 273 Premier League matches. Kevin had the honour of officiating notable appointments including the Community Shield, League Cup and the pinnacle of English refereeing The FA Cup Final in 2019 between Manchester City and Watford at Wembley Stadium.

Kevin will take up a role at the PGMOL (Professional Game Match Officials) as Select Group 2 Manager who will be managing and developing Championship match officials.

We would like to wish Kevin all the best in his retirement and good luck in his new role at the PGMOL. We would also like to thank Kevin for representing Leicestershire and Rutland across the World and inspiring the next generation of match officials.
