Volunteers are the lifeblood of the over 700 affiliated clubs affiliated to the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA.

Contrary to popular belief, football isn't just 22 players and a referee on a pitch. Without the legions of volunteers and often unsung heroes ready to administer the clubs, coach teams and fulfil all the backroom duties required to keep a club running, football in Leicestershire & Rutland simply wouldn't happen on a Saturday, Sunday or any other day of the week.

The Leicestershire & Rutland County FA recognises the hours of time, effort, blood and tears that are put into clubs all over the country. To reward the best, most committed and hardest working volunteers in Leicestershire & Rutland we urge you to nominate your clubs secretaries, chairmen, treasurers, coaches and unsung heroes for The FA Community Awards 2012 sponsored by McDonalds.

If you currently volunteer for a club, but need a helping hand, or would just like to keep up to date with the best practices and most useful resources why not check out 'Your Game' which is tailored to help the countries volunteers and hopefully ease the burden on their shoulders.

If you are a club looking for volunteers or a volunteer looking for a club, why not check out our Volunteers Notice Board
