The FA's Respect Programme provides tools for coaches, referees, volunteers and parents from grassroots to elite football to help ensure a safe, positive environment in which to play the game. In Leicestershire & Rutland County FA 18 out of 21 leagues are signed up to the FA Respect Programme and all our FA Charter Standard Clubs endorse the programme with many embedding specific Respect Co-ordinator, and Respect Marshals within their club or league.
To all managers and coaches - Do you want a happy, successful team?
Follow these tips for success:
- Recognise that you won't get all your decisions right and neither will the referee.
- You are the person in charge. Lead by example. If you rant and rave so will they!
- How many of us have ever got better at something in response to someone swearing or throwing tea cups at us?
- Would you use bad language at home in front of your children?
There is something sad and quite alarming to see grown adults shout at children, don't be a muppet!
