The Leicestershire & Rutland County FA Inclusion Advisory Group

We are delighted to announce the launch of our new Inclusion Advisory Group

What is an Inclusion Advisory Group?

The purpose of the Inclusion Advisory Group (IAG) is to support the County FA (CFA) with embedding inclusion into our everyday business and plans. The IAG will guide the CFA towards ensuring policies and practices are inclusive. The IAG will also provide guidance on ways in which we can reach people who may feel excluded or find it difficult to access football, whether it be because of their age, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, marital status or civil partnership, race, nationality, ethnic origin, colour, religion or belief, ability or disability, pregnancy and maternity.

Who is on the Inclusion Advisory Group?

Following a thorough recruitment process our IAG is made up of individuals with skills, knowledge and experience within inclusion, who also have a passion for developing grassroots football in Leicestershire & Rutland.

What will the Inclusion Advisory Group do?

The IAG have gone through an induction process which has covered a background to IAGs roles and responsibilities, the Leicestershire and Rutland CFA, the FA, Safeguarding and Inclusion. The IAG meet bi-monthly and act in an independent advisory capacity on all areas of inclusion. Alongside this IAG will initially be focusing on 3 key areas:

  • Achieving the Equality Standard (includes review of policies and practices)
  • Helping to embed inclusion within the CFA Business and Operational Plan
  • Discrimination, focusing on discipline and education processes

Separate working groups are being created around these areas and the work will feed into future IAG meetings.
