Next Generation of Referees celebrated at December Call Back Evening

17 brand new referees celebrated at referee call back evening this month

On Monday, December 6th, 2023, the Leicestershire and Rutland County FA (LRCFA) hosted a referee call back evening, marking a significant milestone for 17 brand new referees across the counties.

The event not only celebrated their successful completion of The FA Referee Course but also provided an opportunity for attendees to share experiences on the five games that they refereed.

The evening also shed light on promotion pathways within the refereeing community, including the various levels of refereeing and the steps required for progression, which empowered them with a clear roadmap for their careers and fuelled their aspirations for growth within officiating.

LRCFA Referee Development Lead, Jacob Lehane commented on the success of the event, he said: “The 17 brand new referees, now armed with their certificates and badges, are poised to make a positive impact on the beautiful game.

“As they step into the next chapter of their refereeing careers, the LRCFA is keen to provide excellent support to all of our referees to ensure that they continue to develop and progress to achieve their full potential.”

The FA Referee Course, which served as the foundation for this celebration, is a comprehensive training program designed to equip referees with the knowledge and skills required for officiating football matches.
