LRCFA Launch Respect Officer Pilot

This project is aimed at encouraging a positive and respectful football culture across Leicestershire and Rutland.

The Leicestershire and Rutland County Football Association are proud to launch the ‘Respect Officer’ initiative, delivered in partnership with the Leicester & District Mutual Football League, Leicester & District Sunday Juniors League, and the Leicestershire Youth League.

This project is aimed at encouraging a positive and respectful football culture. Through a collaborative effort, it is set to elevate the standard of matchday environments within Leicestershire’s local football community.

As part of the project, clubs affiliated with these leagues may receive unannounced visits from a designated County FA 'Respect Officer.' These officers will attend matches and closely observe the match day environment, focusing on the interactions between spectators, coaches, and players, as well as the club’s adherence to the FA Respect Initiative.

Their responsibility will involve assessing and reporting the degree of respect shown within the club and then relaying this information back to the appropriate leagues. They will refrain from directly engaging with officials during events.

The 'Respect Officer' project seeks to set a commendable standard for getting as many people playing football in the best possible environment.
