Thank You!

The CFA would like to say a massive thank you to the volunteers, players and officials who took part in our engagement process earlier this year.

The whole team at Leicestershire & Rutland County FA would like to say a massive thank you to the volunteers, players, referees, and officials who took part in our “Shape Your Future” engagement process earlier this year.

As part of our engagement process, we delivered and supported five engagement events across the county between February and April, which engaged over 350 individual attendees. The five events were made up of three events, targeting volunteers, leagues, and clubs. We also hosted one event to engage the voice of young people and finally a “Your Game, Your Way event in partnership with The FA that focused on Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.

In addition, we released our “Shape Your Future” survey, where we received a very pleasing 296 responses, of which 184 expressed an interest in being part of future focus groups to help shape and deliver our new 2024–28 strategy.

Through these engagement tools, we received feedback on a wider range of topics, which include:

  • Improving poor behaviour
  • Improving the playing choice
  • Attracting, valuing, and recruiting volunteers, coaches and referees
  • How we improve facilities.

There were also opportunities to engage with us on how and what services and standards stakeholders would like to receive from the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA.

From those discussion topics, four key themes emerged as priorities for the next four years.

  • Improve poor behaviour
  • Improve facilities.
  • Embrace all communities
  • Value volunteers

This feedback is now being analysed and used to help shape the future strategy.

Joe Dunmore, Chief Executive Officer, outlined: “We once again thank everyone that attended or took part in our engagement processes. The input, feedback, and passion felt across all the events is a real testament to the hard work and dedication of all those who make the game happen across the county.

“We are now working hard to bring the feedback to life through our strategy, but more importantly, we intend to continue engaging with all our stakeholders to help shape and deliver on the feedback we have received.”
