REMINDER - Emergency Pitch Hire Available This Weekend
With some challenging weather conditions anticipated in the coming weeks, clubs are reminded that the Emergency Pitch Hire Fund is available this season.
Following a successful pilot last year, the Emergency Pitch Hire Fund is accessible to all Adult Open Age matches, including league and cup matches.
Should a match be postponed due to a pitch being unplayable or unavailable, the County FA is encouraging clubs to hire out an alternative artificial or grass pitch.
Of course, we accept that clubs will incur a cost in booking another pitch – and that’s where the Emergency Pitch Hire Fund comes in. The fund will meet any additional costs the club experiences up to the value of £100 per-booking.
This scheme helps to ensure that games get played, thus helping to prevent a backlog of fixtures, which the County FA appreciates is a challenge for leagues, clubs and players in adult football.

Shaun Waite, Football Development Officer at Leicestershire & Rutland County FA, said: “Through consultation with our leagues and clubs, we know postponement of fixtures can cause logistical challenges for all involved in the grassroots game, including players, clubs and league officials.
“We hope this scheme helps provide some solutions for all in the adult open-age game.”
