In partnership with Leicestershire & Rutland Youth Futsal League, a number of Futsal tournaments are taking place throughout June with the aim of offering players of all ages, a chance to experience the game in a safe, fun and inclusive environment.

What is Futsal?

Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced small sided football game that is widely played across the world. The nature of the game places a large emphasis on technical skill and ability in situations of high pressure, and is subsequently an excellent breeding ground for football competencies that can be translated into the 11-a-side format of the game.

It is the only small sided format of the game recognised and supported by FIFA and UEFA. It is a five-a-side game, normally played on a flat indoor pitch with hockey sized goals and a size 4 ball with a reduced bounce. It is played to touchlines and played to a stopping clock (similar to basketball) with time-outs permitted.

When are the tournaments taking place and how to book?

All tournaments are taking place at Crown Hills Community College, with a £35 entry, payable online or on arrival.

The days very much targeted those that wish to experience Futsal for the first time therefore no previous experience of Futsal is required. In addition, the tournaments for Under 9 to Under 16 will be played under “Power Play Rules”, where by teams are awarded double goals when music is played.
