Following a period of consultation with local referees and other stakeholders, we are delighted to announce the re-launch to the much-valued CPD programme for referees at all levels of the game within Leicestershire & Rutland.

We know that opportunities to learn from experienced officials, along with opportunities to network and learn from likeminded referees is a highly valued by our network of registered referees and therefore we have committed to the delivery of monthly CPD sessions throughout the season, starting next month!

In addition to the learning, at each CPD sessions there will be opportunities for attendees to win referee goodies as part of a prize draw at the end of each session. Therefore, please be sure to attend and stay engaged through out each session for chances to win a little goody!

The seasons CPD programme kicks off on Thursday 3^rd December, 7pm – 9pm with a session titled, Up, Up and Away – Mental Skills for a Stop Start Season.

On this session, David Hutchinson a 'Master NLP Sports Practitioner'  will be joined by Dan Robathan, Premier League Assistant Referee and Kevin Friend, Premier League Match Official, to share with us his and their approach towards projecting mental strength and having inner resilience

The session will focus on life skills as well as specific refereeing skills, culminated in a consideration of the power of how mental rehearsal can build confidence and aid performance – during lockdown and pre-match.

Attendees will then be sent the meeting link up to 24hours prior to the CPD session.

We have further CPD sessions scheduled as detailed below, with more detail being communicated to referees nearer the time of each event;

• Thursday 7^th January - Journey & Insight into a professional referee by Minesh Gupta and Jon Brooks
• Thursday 4^th February – Referee Journey, Challenge & Success, and a Technical session on Handball by Minesh Gupta and Farai Hallam

*Due to the current government restrictions, the CPD sessions will initially take place online, but this will be reviewed as the season progresses with a blend of online and face-to-face sessions in the future.
