LRCFA Referee Mentor Recruitment

Leicestershire & Rutland County FA, we are recruiting a team of Referee Mentors to support new trainee referees as they begin their journey and aim to become fully qualified match officials.

Referee Mentors will have a particular focus on supporting new referees in completing their first five training matches with a blended approach of up to 2 match visits, which will include follow up developmental feedback, alongside regular communication with trainee referee to ensure the referee feels supported and are being linked to the appropriate sanctioned league for appointments.

Mentors will ideally have at least 3 years’ experience of refereeing at a Level 7 status or higher, and have some experience of mentoring, coaching or observing referees. Mentors will also need a flexible approach in supporting referees and have availability to conduct match visits in evenings or weekends as required by the trainee referee.

Referee Mentors will largely be a voluntary role, however the LRCFA will pay expenses of £15 for conducing match visits.

As part of the recruitment process, interest candidate will need to be available for a short formal 15 minute online meeting with the County FA Workforce Development Lead and Designated Safeguarding Officer 22nd or 24th June, and be required to attend an Referee Mentor Induction evening on 29th June.
