2022-23 Senior Football Round Up

A recap on achievements earned by Leicestershire & Rutland senior teams within the 22/23 season

As we wave goodbye to the 2022/23 season we wanted to look back and bring attention to some of the achievements earned by senior teams throughout Leicestershire and Rutland.

  • Anstey Nomads, crowned champions of the United Counties League Premier Division North earning promotion to the Northern Premier League Midlands Division. Congratulations to the Nomads who will be playing step 4 football next season.
  • It was a season to remember for Quorn AFC after earning a dramatic promotion from United Counties League Premier Division North.
  • Within the Leicestershire Women and Girls League, we would like to congratulate Desford & Caterpillar and Anstey Nomads on winning their respective divisions.
  • The Leicestershire Senior League was won by Asfordby, after a great campaign they can look forward to playing in the United Counties League Division 1 next season.
  • Ashby Ivanhoe booked their place within step 5 of the Football pyramid after an impressive campaign earned them promotion from the Midland Football League Division 1.
  • Also climbing their way to step 5 is Aylestone Park! Winning the United Counties League Division 1 and achieving 95 points.
  • In Rutland, Uppingham Town were crowned champions of the Peterborough & District Football League.

These are just some of the great stories of success that has occurred this season within Football and Leicestershire and Rutland. We now look forward to what we hope will be a great 2023/24 season.
