The FA is hosting a Para Football Open Trials Day at St George’s Park for players’ first engagement with the Para Football Pathway or as a way for players to re-engage with the player pathway.

The Para Football player pathway runs alongside any football that players already participate in, so it does not compromise or replace any current involvement in the game.

The impairment groups included in the Open Trials Day are:

  • Female deaf players (aged 16+)
  • Male partially sighted players (aged 16+)
  • Female blind and partially sighted players (aged 16+)
  • Please Note: The pathway for female blind and partially sighted players is blind football (IE: under blindfold)

Event Details

Date: Saturday, July 13, 2024

Time: 10.30am - 1pm (arrival at 10am).

Venue: St George’s Park, Newborough Rd., Needwood, Staffs, DE13 9PD

  • Players should come dressed ready to play football (including appropriate clothing, footwear and shin pads)
  • Female deaf players and male partially sighted players will be playing INDOOR on a futsal court
  • Female blind and partially sighted players will be playing OUTDOOR on a 3G surface (Astro trainers only!)
  • Please bring suitable hydration (no fizzy drinks!) as you may be playing for up to 2 hours.
  • Signposting to further Para Football Pathway opportunities for players will take place after the event. No communication regarding this will be done on the day, apart from highlighting local playing opportunities available to all.

NB: Eligibility criteria for Para Football are set internationally, and evidence of this will be required prior to a player's further engagement in the programme.

Please be prepared to produce and share this medical evidence of the qualifying condition, should you be asked to do so either at your chosen ETD or via communications after the event.
