Female Football

With almost three million active female players, football is one of the biggest women’s team sport in England – but there is plenty of room for more.

Women’s and girls’  football across Leicestershire and Rutland ranges from recreational kickabouts and Futsal to competitive 11 a side football with opportunities throughout the football pyramid, for all abilities and ages.

With strong tournament performances from the England Lionesses in recent years and the hope of a successful World Cup this summer (2019) it couldn’t be a better or more exciting time to get into or back into the game. The FA are working to double participation in the female game by 2020, so why not join the biggest female sport movement. Find out more about The FA’s Game Plan for Growth

We support a number of leagues, clubs and volunteers across the County for women and girls to play the beautiful game, including women’s only recreational football and Futsal,  SSE Wildcats and 11 a side football
